program philosophy
The
YMCA Castle Kids Child Development Center is committed to providing
opportunities for young children to grow at their own pace. Our program
stresses high quality childcare, while nurturing the child's desire to explore,
discover, and learn through developmentally appropriate activities.
Our
goal is to help children become enthusiastic learners. We will foster an
environment that promotes independence, a healthy self-image, and positive
social interactions. Castle Kids will strive to maintain and strengthen
the family unit by supporting their efforts to build good values in
children. Children will be encouraged to gain an understanding of their
community, country, and world and to develop an appreciation for diversity and
uniqueness in others.
program objectives
The YMCA Castle Kids Child Development Center is a developmental program that places a high priority on meeting individual needs of the child, the parent, and the family. Our mission is to provide a pathway for learning for young children, while ensuring children are safe and happy.
Castle Kids recognizes children's needs are best met when they actively participate in a wide variety of teacher and child initiated activities throughout the day. Special emphasis is placed on helping children learn through "play" which supports the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development of the child. Play encourages children to think, reason, question, and experiment. This opportunity offered to all children is presented in a warm, loving, and supportive environment that promotes a sense of security and trust.
